I believe childhood is the most precious period in a person’s life. It is our earliest experiences that help shape healthy and successful futures and this is why it is critical for schools to get education right. At Dallington we understand how fundamental this is. Our school is a habitat for creativity and wonder, where children are deeply engaged through a play- based, explorative and personalised approach to learning. We provide a holistic, child-centered educational experience and prioritise building strong relationships with both children and parents.
These key ingredients enable our children’s potential to be unlocked, ensuring they flourish at school and beyond both academically and emotionally as happy, confident individuals. Dallington is a school with children at its heart in the very heart of London and I feel privileged to be the Head of this vibrant school community.
Our Values
Everything we do at our school is driven by a vision we have crafted for our children and is supported by six fundamental values that shape our approach to life, relationships, and child development.
Our Curriculum
We firmly believe that learning is much more than just the gaining of knowledge and the passing of exams, and so endeavour to maintain as much freedom as possible from the pressures of homework and testing.
We teach our children confidence by setting challenges, encouraging discussion and debate, and create curiosity and empowerment through experiences and opportunities. We are guided by the National Curriculum, but allow ourselves the freedom to pursue other topics if a teacher wishes to.
The curriculum is underpinned by academic rigour and quality. Cross-curricular themes and topics are studied each term and children can make real, meaningful links between subjects, and develop deeper conceptual understanding of what they are learning.
